How to pay us
in crypto

You don't need to understand crypto to use it. You need to do three things: get a little crypto, send it to the address we show you at checkout, and wait a few minutes. That's the whole job.

You set this up once. The first time takes about five minutes, mostly waiting for an ID check. Every time after that it's about thirty seconds - open an app, scan a code, tap send.

Pay with the Swyftx app, start to finish

The easiest path in New Zealand is the Swyftx phone app - New Zealand's biggest crypto exchange (it took over Easy Crypto in 2026). Do the whole thing on your phone: add money with a normal bank transfer, buy the coin, and send it straight to our address. You never install a separate wallet - Swyftx holds the coin until you send it to us. Follow these nine steps once and you're done.

Use the app, not the website. If Swyftx's website keeps blocking you at the "I'm not a robot" tick-box, that's a known headache - the phone app skips it. Install the app first and do everything there.

    Install the Swyftx app

    On your phone, open the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android), search "Swyftx", and install it. The icon is a white "S" on a dark blue square. Make sure the maker says "Swyftx" so you get the real one.

    Create your account

    Open the app and tap Sign up / Register. Enter your email and a password. It emails you a code or a link to confirm it’s you - tap it, and you’re back in the app. Doing this in the app is what gets you past the robot check that stops people on the website.

    Verify your ID - once

    The app asks you to verify your identity. This is NZ law for every exchange, not a Private Encounters thing, and it’s a one-off. Have your driver licence or passport ready, take a photo when prompted, and take the quick selfie it asks for. Approval is usually a few minutes.

    Add New Zealand dollars

    Tap Deposit (or Wallet → Deposit → NZD). Choose bank transfer or POLi. For a bank transfer the app shows you an account number and a reference code - pay it from your banking app exactly like any bill. POLi is instant; a plain bank transfer can take a few hours to land.

    Open our checkout page next to you

    On your Private Encounters checkout page you’ll see three things: the coin to pay in, a long address (letters and numbers), and an exact amount. Keep that page open - you’re about to copy the address from it. If you can, open it on a second device so you can look at both at once.

    Buy the exact coin we asked for

    In the app tap Buy / Trade, search for the coin our checkout names (XRP if you took our advice, otherwise Solana), and buy at least the amount on our invoice. Add a dollar or two extra so the small network fee on the next step doesn’t leave you a hair short.

    Go to Withdraw / Send

    Tap Wallet, tap the coin you just bought, then tap Withdraw or Send. Swyftx will ask where to send it - this is where our address goes, not any wallet of your own.

    Paste our address and set the network

    Paste the address from our checkout page into the destination field (or tap the scan icon and scan the QR code - scanning avoids typos). If it asks which network, pick the one our invoice names - the XRP Ledger for XRP, Solana for SOL. Paying in XRP? Also enter the destination tag our checkout shows. Check the first and last few characters of the address match ours.

    Enter the exact amount and confirm

    Type the exact amount from our invoice, confirm with your PIN, code, or Face ID, and send. That’s it - it reaches us in a few minutes and your listing updates on its own. You don’t need to email us or send a screenshot.

Your bank sees "Swyftx", not us. And because the coin goes from Swyftx straight to our address, it never has to sit in a wallet of your own - there's nothing to move a second time and nothing to lose along the way.

After the first time, paying again is about thirty seconds: open the app, buy the coin, Withdraw to our address, done.

Paying from a wallet or exchange you already have

Already got coins somewhere? Find yours below and follow the steps. Every one is the same shape: find Send or Withdraw, put in our address, choose the right network, enter the exact amount, confirm. Scan our QR code instead of typing the address whenever you can - typing a crypto address by hand is how people lose money.

XamanFor XRP - the cheapest and fastest way to pay us.
  1. 01Xaman (it used to be called XUMM) is the wallet most XRP holders use. Install it, and fund it from Swyftx or any exchange.
  2. 02On our checkout page, tap the Xaman button - it opens the app with our address, the amount and the tag already filled in.
  3. 03Doing it by hand instead? Tap Send, paste our address, and put our destination tag in the Destination Tag field.
  4. 04The tag is not optional on XRP. Without it your payment arrives but we cannot tell whose it is.
  5. 05Confirm. It lands in about four seconds and the fee is a fraction of a cent.
Binance
  1. 01Open the Binance app, tap Wallet, then Withdraw.
  2. 02Choose the coin shown on our invoice.
  3. 03Paste our address, or tap the scan icon and scan the QR code on the checkout page.
  4. 04Pick the network our invoice names - XRP Ledger for XRP, Solana for SOL. Getting the network right is the one people lose money on.
  5. 05Enter the exact amount from the invoice, then confirm with your code.
Coinbase
  1. 01Open Coinbase, tap the coin you are paying with, then tap Send.
  2. 02Paste our address, or scan the QR code from the checkout page.
  3. 03If it asks which network, choose the one our invoice names.
  4. 04Enter the exact amount, then confirm.
Trust Wallet
  1. 01Open Trust Wallet, tap the coin, then tap Send.

Three things that trip people up

None of them are hard. They just can't be undone once you've hit send, so give them ten seconds each.

Paying in XRP? Include the destination tag

XRP payments all share one address, so we tell them apart with a destination tag - a short number our checkout shows right next to the address. Your wallet has a field for it. Put it in. Without the tag we can't match your payment to your listing, and sorting it out by hand is slow.

Send on the right network

Send XRP on the XRP Ledger andSOL on Solana - the network our invoice names, every time. Some exchanges offer the same coin on several networks; pick the wrong one and the payment is gone, and nobody can get it back. When in doubt, match the invoice exactly.

Send the exact amount

Send the exact amount the invoice shows. We lock the NZD rate onto it the moment it's created, so the figure is fixed - whatever the coin does after that is our problem, not yours. Buying from a wallet? Add a few cents extra so a network fee doesn't leave you a hair short.

It usually confirms in seconds. Both coins we take are quick: XRP settles in about four seconds and Solana is much the same. You don't have to watch it, email us, or send a screenshot. Close the page if you like. Your listing updates itself the moment the payment arrives.
